Ocean Wonder is an owner-run service that offers boat-based Ocean Wildlife Encounters. These intimate trips don’t follow any set route. Instead, I’m guided by my understanding and ongoing observation of this environment, the creatures in it, and the ever-changing water and weather conditions.
These trips are all about finding and, where possible, interacting with some of the amazing creatures that frequent the rich waters around Cape Town.

Expert Guided trips
There’s no set route. We’ll go where we can to find our oceanic friends. Normally it’s in the Table Bay area. I’m guided by local knowledge of the weather, the ocean and the patterns and movements of creatures in it.
Incredible environment
Besides the amazing animals that we encounter, it’s a really fun boat ride in an incredibly beautiful environment. The views of Table Mountain and Robben Island are amazing too.
The boat Ocean Wonder
Ocean Wonder is a 7.2m Ballistic semi-rigid inflatable (SRI), powered by 2 × 90hp Yamaha motors. She’s very safe and has been approved by The South African Maritime Safety Authority (SAMSA) as a commercial charter boat, allowed to carry up to 11 passengers. She’s furnished with all the required safety equipment and more.

We had such an amazing time with Ocean Wonder Cape Town that we ended up booking the tour twice! Paul, our guide, was exceptional---his knowledge of the animals and the sea is incredible, and it made the experience even more enjoyable. The tour is only for small groups, we were 7 and 4, so it felt very personal, and we got to really appreciate the beauty of the ocean up close. We saw many dolphins, seals, penguins and 3 whales! Wir hatten am Tag vom Abflug die Tour bei Oceanwonder. Dies war unser absolutes Highlight der ganzen Sudafrika Reise! Paul ist ein sehr erfahrener Seemann, der ganz genau weiss was er tut. Obwohl ich immer dachte dass man ausserhalb der Saison nur sehr schwer Wale zu Gesicht bekommt, sind wir wahrend der Tour mindestens 5-6 Walen begegnet ?. Delfine schwirrten regelrecht um uns! Zudem sahen wir Seelowen, Quallen , Pinguine und erfuhren viel Wissenswertes uber die Unterwasserwelt. Nach der Tour bot Paul uns an unsere Koffer bei ihm unterzustellen, was wir sehr schatzen , an dieser Stelle nochmal Herzlichen Dank! Zugut der letzt hatte er uns eines seiner Lieblingsladen empfohlen, wo wir essen konnten. Der Laden hatte uns so gefallen dass wir es schade fanden erst am letzten Tag unsere Reise davon erfahren. Wir empfehlen die Tour bedenkenlos weiter. Fur uns ist es ein Must have in Kapstadt! - Voth
